Looking to bounce back from their first two games, the Rhodes College Softball team squared off in another double header against the Mississippi University for Women Owls.

The Rhodes lineup reset after a brief rain delay in game one, and exploded for 7 runs in the bottom of the 4th inning. The scoring began with a base clearing triple off the bat of Talia Travis who single handedly gave the Lynx the lead. Rhodes was not done yet however as Jasmyn Stanley drove Talia Travis to the plate to extend the Lynx lead to 4-2. Hannah Schweiger would follow up with an RBI single of her own, putting a bow on the 7 run inning for the Lynx.

Lynx ace Gina Dudley pitched a complete game, dealing 7.0 innings and allowing 4 runs while striking out 3 and claiming her first win of her Junior season. The Lynx would take game 1 by a final score of 8-4.

Game 2 would prove to be a much lower scoring affair, however, as the Lynx were only able to plate 1 run. Despite a hard fought game, the Lynx would fall in the final game of the series by a score of 3-1.

Jasmyn Stanley had a notable performance in the game, recording a hit and the only RBI of the contest.

Rhodes will remain at home next weekend for a 4 game series against Webster University, and coverage of the games can be found on the Lynx Live Network.
