ATLANTA, GA – The Rhodes College Lynx battled hard in the SAA Quarterfinals but ultimately fell short against the Oglethorpe University Stormy Petrels, losing 79-69. Several Lynx players delivered standout performances, showcasing their determination and effort throughout the game.
The game was closely contested early, with Rhodes staying within reach after the first quarter. The Lynx fought back in the second half, cutting into the lead with a 19-point effort, but Oglethorpe matched their intensity, maintaining a 10-point advantage going into the final quarter. A strong fourth-quarter push by Rhodes resulted in 24-points but was not enough to secure the win. Rhodes' dominance in the paint and on the boards helped keep the game within reach. The Lynx had opportunities in the second half to close the gap, but Oglethorpe's shooting closed the final score.
