Lynx Fall to Yellow Jackets in Close Contest

BEREA, OH– The Rhodes College Lynx battled hard against Baldwin Wallace, but fell short in a closely contested matchup with a final score of 17-14. Despite the loss, the Lynx showed resilience and had several standout performances on both ends of the field.

Rhodes started off gradually, trailing 5-1 after the first quarter. However, the Lynx responded in the second quarter by outscoring the Yellow Jackets 4-3 to close the halftime gap to 8-5. Drew Downes' lead in goals and defensive plays from David Hart and Ben Johnson helped keep the game within reach. Baldwin Wallace extended their lead in the third quarter, but Rhodes never backed down. An explosive fourth quarter saw the Lynx score eight goals. Downes, Murphy, and Mori led the charge to push for the momentum shift. The Lynx held an edge in faceoffs, winning 17, and dominated the ground ball battle with 24. The Lynx's clearing efficiency also helped maintain offensive possessions. Charlie Herlocher had a good showing in cage with 9 total saves.
