Game Recap: Rhodes vs. Westminster College (MO)

Rhodes earned a decisive 103–61 victory over Westminster (MO) on December 29 at Mallory Gymnasium in Memphis. The Lynx controlled the game from the opening minutes, building a large first-half lead and continuing to extend it behind efficient shooting and consistent defensive pressure.

Key Performances

Senior Phil Dotson delivered a standout performance, scoring 42 points on 15-of-22 shooting, including 9-of-14 from three-point range, in just 27 minutes of action. Jackson Huxtable added 19 points, seven rebounds, and three steals, while Sam Maddox contributed 14 points off the bench. Trevor Lombard finished with six points and three assists, and Mason Bennett added seven assists and seven rebounds. As a team, Rhodes shot 50.6 percent from the field and 44.4 percent from beyond the arc. 

Game Highlights

Rhodes jumped out to an early advantage, scoring 57 points in the first half while shooting over 53 percent from the floor and better than 56 percent from three-point range. The Lynx continued to push the pace in the second half, finishing with 32 fast-break points and forcing 20 Westminster turnovers, which led to 31 points. Rhodes also held a 49–34 rebounding edge and saw contributions throughout the lineup as it pulled away for the 42-point win.

With the victory, Rhodes improves to 9–2 on the season and remains unbeaten at home. The Lynx will now turn their attention toward the start of conference play as they prepare for their upcoming SAA opener at home against Millsaps College on January 3 at 5:00 PM.
