Men's Soccer Win Their First Conference Match Against The Milsaps Majors

The Rhodes College men's soccer won their first conference game of the season against the Milsaps Majors in a close 2-1 victory on September 28th, 2024. Rhodes started out strong with a goal in the first minute of the first half from Hardy Smith, and then an additional goal from Jackson Thelen led the Lynx to be up 2-0. Milsaps was only allowed one goal in the second half, with the Rhodes defense staying strong for the remainder of the game.

The Lynx are continuing their win streak, making this their third win in a row. The Lynx took a huge offensive advantage by scoring a goal in under a minute from Hardy Smith, assisted by Jackson Thelen, and maintaining an offensive presence seen through the 24 shots taken. Only one shot was taken from milsaps, and the half closes with the lynx up by one. 

The lynx again started the half strong by scoring a goal a few minutes into the second half from Jackson Thelen, assisted by Max McLarty. The Milsaps came back after 10 minutes to score their first goal of the game, and from there the Rhodes defense became strong, only allowing 6 shots afterwards to be taken.
