GAME1:
The Lynx gave Centre their first loss of the season in game one of the doubleheader this afternoon, prevailing by a score of 6-2.
Zac Sohosky dominated yet again, going 6 ⅔ innings punching out 7. In the 6th inning, however, he loaded the bases, and William May relieved him, giving up a single. The two runs that scored are given to Sohosky.
The Lynx started the scoring in the third, with Charlie Meyer's SAC fly. In the fifth, Dante Messina was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded, scoring a second run.
After the Colonels tied it in the 7th, Freshman Myles Kruger stepped up to the plate and blasted the first pitch he saw over the left field fence, his first collegiate home run, giving the Lynx a 3-2 lead.
The Lynx scored 3 more off of an RBI groundout from Charlie Meyer, an RBI single from Malcolm Rohlfing, and an RBI double from Myles Kruger, who finished 3-3 at the plate.
William May pitched the 8th and 9th, sealing the win for the Lynx.
GAME 2:
The Lynx fell to the Colonels 5-2 in game 2. They scored 2 in the first off a Dante Messina single and a crafty doublesteal of second and home. Unfortunately, they couldn't get any more runs across.
Ben Daniel started for the Lynx, going 5 innings and giving up 2. Reid Lampert and Hank Shield also pitched. Giving up a combined 3.
The Lynx take the field for the series finale against Centre tomorrow at noon.
