The Lynx Softball team spent opening weekend on the road against several strong opponents. The Lynx began play in Montgomery, Alabama, where they squared off against Huntingdon College in a two-game series. The Lynx struck first early in game one thanks to a
Cam Ferguson single to drive in
Madison Granberry. The only other runs the Lynx produced came in the top of the 3rd inning on the heels of an
Emma Caplinger double that brought
Madison Granberry around to score once again. Immediately following,
Talia Travis drove home Caplinger with a double of her own, giving the Lynx their third and final run of the game. The game would result in a 13-3 loss for the Lynx, with the highlight of the game being
Madison Granberry's 2 hits on 3 at-bats, and accounting for 2 of the 3 Lynx runs.
Game 2 at Huntingdon would have a similar ending, as the Lynx were not able to bring any runs across the plate due to an impressive performance from Huntingdon pitcher Allie Roberts. The final would be an 8-0 Rhodes defeat.
The Lynx would relocate on Saturday to LaGrange, Georgia, where they would enter another two-game series against LaGrange College. The Lynx would once again get off to a good start after
Hannah Schweiger took advantage of a throwing error by the LaGrange shortstop that gave the Lynx the early lead. LaGrange would put up a run in the bottom of the second, but the Lynx were quick to respond with three consecutive singles to put up a few runs of their own.

On Friday, they will kick off the home-stand with a two-game set against Lane College. On Saturday, they will host Webster University at noon and Maryville College at 2:00 pm. The Lynx are set to play a second game with Maryville College on Sunday morning, followed by a rematch with Webster University in the afternoon.
