Rhodes Triumphs Over Huntingdon

On December 20th, 2024, Rhodes College claimed a decisive 85-73 victory over Huntingdon College in a thrilling matchup at Mallory Gymnasium in Memphis, TN.

Rhodes took control from the start, leading throughout the game with a well-balanced offensive and defensive effort. Shawn Jones Jr. was the standout player, finishing with 23 points on 8-of-12 shooting, including 2-of-3 from beyond the arc, while also contributing 6 rebounds and 8 assists. His performance was instrumental in giving Rhodes a strong offensive foundation.

Trevor Lombard was another key contributor, scoring 19 points and knocking down 5-of-11 three-pointers, while Cass Ramberg added 10 points and 6 rebounds. The team's depth was evident, with Phil Dotson providing a spark off the bench with 15 points, including 3-of-4 shooting from deep. Rhodes' 46.9% shooting from three-point range (15-of-32) was a major factor, consistently stretching the Hawks' defense and opening up opportunities inside.

This will be just the fourth time these teams are meeting. The Lynx currently are 0-3 against the Tigers with its last matchup dating back to 2019 where they took a 66-82 loss.
