The Rhodes College Women's cross country team was in Memphis, Tennessee this past weekend, competing in the Southern Athletic Association Conference Championship Meet. The Lynx ran a 6K race to compete for the conference title, placing third overall with 83 points.
Freshman,
Elena Gentry was honored with the prestigious title of SAA Newcomer of the Year, showcasing an impressive debut performance.She secured an outstanding ninth-place finish with a commendable time of 23:45.
Hannah Jane Miller and
Vivian Kalb finished through the line together, placing 17th and 18th overall. Soon after,
Sienna Collier and
Claire Bramlett ran in to finish 20th and 21st. Two other Lynx contributed to the teams 83 points:
Riley Imbornone, andÂ
Caroline Wilder finished 42nd and 48th overall.Â
With impressive times from the SAA Championship, the Lynx are now looking forward to the NCAA DIII Regional Championships in Clinton, Mississippi, on November 16th, where they hope to improve their individual and team times to have a chance to qualify for the DIII national championship race.Â
