Lynx Down the Majors

The Rhodes Women's Soccer Team achieved an exciting 5-0 win over the Millsaps Majors to secure their first win in the SAA tournament on November 2nd, 2024, in Memphis, Tennessee. This allows the Lynx to move on to the semi-finals next weekend and become one step further to being conference champions.

Match Recap: Rhodes College vs. Millsaps College

Mary Gale Godwin, named First Team all-SAA this week, scored her ninth goal of the season to lead the game 1-0 in the 18th minute of the match. Leila Robinson was then able to score a goal after chipping the ball over the Major's goalie. Leila Robinson also had an assist to Erin Cliff at the very end of the first half. With a 3-0 lead in the second half, RCWS played confidently and composed, scoring two more goals: one by Sophia Rall and the fifth goal of the game by Gaby Sanchez, with a nice over the top ball from outside back Kayleigh Doherty.

As mentioned before, this allows Rhodes to move on to the semi-finals of the SAA tournament with a chance to win it all and move onto the NCAA tournament for the Lynx. These ladies continue to show grit and determination as they leave it all on the field each game.

The Lady Lynx will face Berry College for the second time this season and will be playing at the regular season champions' Sewanee Tigers field on November 8th, 2024, at a later determined time.
