Rhodes Tops Covenant in Thrilling Contest

In a fast-paced and high-scoring match up, the Rhodes Lynx secured an 85-79 victory over Covenant College on Friday evening in Lookout Mountain, Georgia. The win improves Rhodes' record to 3-2 on the season. Despite trailing by three points at the half (40-37), the Lynx turned up their offense in the second, outscoring Covenant 48-39 to seal the win. The game featured 10 lead changes, keeping fans on the edge of their seats throughout the contest.

Key Performances:
- Freshamn, Murray Norman was a standout for Rhodes, leading the Lynx with 21 points, 6 rebounds, and 2 assists. Norman was a key contributor from beyond the arc, hitting 5-of-10 from three-point range.

- Trevor Lombard added a solid 19 points, including 3-of-7 from three, while also chipping in with 4 rebounds and 4 assists. His scoring and leadership were critical in the second half as Rhodes surged ahead.

- Tyler Jasek was another key contributor, finishing with 12 points on 5-of-8 shooting, including 2-of-5 from three. His efficient scoring off the bench provided a much-needed spark for Rhodes.

Rhodes was efficient from the free-throw line, converting 10-of-17 (58.8%), while Covenant struggled at just 38.9% (7-of-18). The Lynx also capitalized on fast breaks, outscoring Covenant 18-8 in that category.

Team Stats:
- Rhodes shot 43.5% from the field (30-of-69), including 40.5% from three-point range (15-of-37).
- Rhodes dominated the second-chance points, holding a 17-7 edge, and were also better in fast-break points (18-8).

Final Thoughts:
Rhodes' depth and second-half shooting proved to be the difference in this hard-fought contest. The Lynx had a balanced offensive attack, and their defensive adjustments after the break helped slow down Covenant's offensive flow. With this victory, Rhodes will look to build momentum, and finish out the weekend strong.

Looking Forward: Rhodes vs. Piedmont
Rhodes will face Piedmont on Saturday, November 23rd in Demorest, GA. This match up marks just the third time these two teams will be competing. Rhodes won the last match up back in 2017 and looks to continue that streak.
