Men's Basketball was on the road again this Sunday as they traveled to Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This game was the second of the year for the Lynx, and they hoped to secure a win and move back to .500 on the year.
The Lynx struggled in the first half, letting Colorado College outscore them by 15 points. Going into the half, the Lynx were down 49-34. After halftime, however, the Lynx found a new spark and hit the ground running. The Lynx slowly clawed at the Colorado lead throughout the 2nd half and brought it to a 2-point game with just under 10 seconds to play. Phil Dotson hit a three-pointer as time expired, but the Tigers barely edged out the Lynx, 82-81. This close loss was tough for the Lynx but was an impressive showing of resilience and an impressive comeback attempt.
Phil Dotson led the Lynx in scoring this game, logging 32 points, and led the team in assists with 5. Dotson also had 3 steals. Trevor Lombard led the Lynx in rebounds, logging 10. Lombard also dropped 13 points. Defensively, Arness Georgetown had 3 blocks. Hayden Lamey also had 10 points.
As a team, Rhodes logged an impressive 40.7% three-point percentage in this game. Rhodes also scored 26 points off turnovers, outscoring Colorado 26-8 in that category.
This loss moves the team to 0-2 on the season, but there is still a lot of excitement to look forward to. This weekend, on November 18th and 19th, Rhodes hosts the Rhodes Classic, welcoming DePauw University and University of the Ozarks to town.
