Coming off a 2-0 weekend in the Rhodes Thanksgiving Classic, the Lynx look to extend their win streak as they host 3 home games in 5 days. The Lynx, 3-1, are off to their best start since 2017, and have the potential to secure their best start in 15 years if they can sweep the week in Mallory Gymnasium.
Rhodes' start can largely be credited to their defensive effort. They currently rank 3rd in the SAA in overall defense, and are #1 in opponent field goal % (.407). They also rank 3rd in overall rebounding (40 per game).
The Lynx seniors have been great to start the year. Forward Jalen Essick has had a huge impact on the offensive side of the court. He is currently 2nd in the SAA in scoring (18.5 PPG) and 2nd in FG % (.651). He has also been extremely active defensively, routinely taking on some of the tougher matchups. Forward Koki Wiley's impact has not gone unnoticed. He currently leads the SAA in rebounding (7.5 per game) and his clutch play has led to multiple big moments, including his game saving play against Spalding in the final seconds. Guard Jefferson Walker currently leads thr SAA in minutes per game and is in the top-6 of assists per game.
Come out and support your Lynx this week!
