Memphis - In true Rhodes fashion, the Lynx opened the 2021 Southern Athletic Association Women's Lacrosse Tournament with a goal in the first 15 seconds of the game. The Lynx would go on to defeat Birmingham-Southern 22-4 to advance to the championship game on Sunday. The win moves Rhodes to 13-0 on the season.

KK Mulholland scored that first goal on an assist from junior
Payton Bennett. Twelve minutes into the game and junior
Baylee Barker had scored five of Rhodes' 10 goals on their way to a 12-0 lead. By halftime Rhodes led 15-1.Â
BSC scored the first two goals of the second half before the Lynx scored seven in a row to lead 22-3 with seven minutes left. The Panthers closed out the game netting the final goal with three minutes remaining.Â
In what was a heavily physical contest with seven yellow cards, Rhodes outshot BSC 52-11, limiting the Panthers to just four shots in the first half. The Lynx also dominated draw controls 25-3, aiding in their ofesnive opportunities.Â
Bennett led the game with eight points including five goals. Barker finished with seven points on six goals and an assist while leading the game with eight draw controls.
Carina Wesker totaled four draw controls and four caused turnovers while
Aidan Pike tallied five points on four assists and a goal.
Emily Bruner totaled four points with three assists and
Avery Burke scored a hat trick.Â
Rhodes will square off against No. 2-seeded Centre College at noon on Mason Field in the battle for the 2021 Tournament Championship title, and automatic bid into the NCAA Tournament.
