DANVILLE, Ky.- In a much anticipated rematch of the regular season finale, Rhodes College women's soccer fell to No.1 - seeded Centre 5-0 in the Southern Athletic Association semifinals.
Centre set the stage early when Mills Mullen found the back of the net two minutes into the game. Teammate Taylor Gebhart also made it to the goal later that half making it a 2-0 lead for Centre. Rhodes first year
Annika Seoane recorded four saves in the half keeping the Colonels at a 2-0 margin going into halftime.
Centre started the second half off quicker than the first, scoring just four seconds in with Mullen assisting on the score. Seoane was quick to get back in action saving a threat to the net 13 seconds later. Mullen continued to lead the way for the Colonels adding another goal to the climbing score in the 60th minute. Senior Sarah Sirkin found a break to the net nine minutes later notching the final goal of the game
Rhodes kept the intensity high when first year
Addison Tierney threatened a goal in the 74
th minute. After a fast paced 90 minutes, the Lynx fell 5-0.
With only 13 being on goal, the Lynx kept Centre to 18 shots in the game, two less than their season's average.
In the same fashion as earlier this season, Seoane recorded four saves per half tying her single game record.
The Lynx end their season with a 3-3-1 record.
