Lynx Dominate Hendrix as Keelan Earns 100th Career Win

Conway, Ark. - Rhodes College women's lacrosse played a rare mid-week contest at Hendrix College Tuesday night. Capping off spring break, the Lynx dominated the Warriors 23-3 on a chilly night under the lights.

The win was the fourth in a row as the Lynx remain undefeated this season. It also marked head coach Meghan Keelan's 100th career victory. In her fifth year at the helm of Rhodes women's lacrosse, Keelan is 57-12. Also the head coach for DII Shephard University for four years, Keelan is now 100-33 in her career. 

Rhodes started scoring early and often, breaking out to a 12-0 lead with 17 minutes still to play in the first half. The Lynx led 16-1 at halftime, outscoring the Warriors 7-2 in the second half.

Overall, Rhodes outshot Hendrix 50-12, and allowed only three shots from the Warriors in the first half. The Lynx held a 21-5 draw control advantage while Hendrix committed 24 turnovers.

Baylee Barker recorded 14 draw controls, tying the program's record for the second time this season. Barker and Payton Bennett each scored four goals with Bennett leading the game with seven points while  Emily Bruner tallied six points on five assists and a goal. Eleven different Lynx scored a goal including freshman Avery Burke who tallied three goals.

Bruner led the game with eight ground balls followed by Bennett with seven and Barker with five. Bennett also tallied five caused turnovers.

Rhodes is scheduled to be at home on Mason Field March 13-14 with mid-day games against Birmingham-Southern College, officially opening SAA play.
