Memphis - After going on a 23-goal run the previous day, Rhodes College women's lacrosse had another 20+ goal day as the Lynx defeated the Birmingham-Southern Panthers 21-9 on Sunday.
Rhodes scored five straight to open the game until BSC scored two of the next three goals. Another run by the Lynx, this time seven unanswered goals, including one from
Aidan Pike, put the Lynx ahead 13-2 and the junior at 99 career goals. BSC closed out the half with a 2-1 run as Rhodes led 14-4.
On the fifth straight goal after the break, Pike recorded her 100th career goal and 14th of the season. The Warriors would close out the game on a 5-2 run.
The Lynx outshot the Panthers 39-17 and held a 23-6 draw control advantage.Â
Emily Bruner led Rhodes with seven points which included four assists and three goals.
Carina Wesker totaled four goals while Burke and
Baylee Barker tallied three goals each.
A junior, Barker also had a career day, setting new program and conference records with 17 draw controls in the win. She had previously tied the record of 14 in a game multiple times.
