3/11/2021 9:13:00 AM

Rhodes College women's basketball is 8-3 on the season and has earned the No. 3 seed in the 2021 Southern Athletic Association Tournament. The Lynx will travel to Jackson, Miss. where the Millsaps College Majors have earned the top seed. Rhodes will take on No. 2-seeded Oglethorpe on Friday with a scheduled 6 p.m. start time. Millsaps and No. 4-seeded Centre College will meet in the other semifinal round at 4 p.m.

No. 6-ranked Millsaps and No. 5-ranked Oglethorpe were named co-regular season champions in the SAA with one loss each against conference opponents. Millsaps is 10-1 against SAA opponents while Oglethorpe is 7-1. The Majors earned the No. 1 seed with a higher win percentage. This year, Millsaps snapped Oglethorpe's 34-game win streak dating back to last year.

Oglethorpe narrowly defeated the Lynx this season in Atlanta (67-59 and 71-70) as the rivals meet for the third time this season, this time, on a neutral-site court.

The Lynx lead all tournament-eligible teams averaging 80.5 points per game, a 31.4 field goal percentage, and 4.55 blocks per game.

Winners on Friday advance to the SAA Tournament Championship game on Saturday with a 3 p.m. tip-off.
