Florida - Rhodes College softball is now 9-8 on the season after scoring two runs in the third inning to defeat Hood College 2-1. 

Each team left a total of two runners on base before all runs were scored in the third inning. Hood led the inning off with a bunt, sac bunt and passed ball before scoring on a fielder's choice. Rhodes answered in the bottom half of the inning. After two singles and with two outs, Hannah Grace Roden got into scoring position on a wild pitch. A Lauren King single tied the game but then immediately afterwards, Shannon Tierney doubled to left center to score King for the game-winning run. 

Hood stranded a bases-loaded situation in the fourth inning on a groundout and Rhodes stranded Anna Kula at third in the bottom of the fourth. Rhodes threatened again with a leadoff double from Marisa Moore in the sixth until Hood put down the next three Lynx in order. 

Madison Keller earned the win with seven strikeouts in 5.2 innings of work. King picked up the save with two strikeouts over 1.1 innings in the circle. 

Kula and King both went 2-for-3 as Rhodes totaled nine hits in the win. Rhodes recorded three stolen bases, including two from Kula while Roden added one as well. 

The Lynx are off Wednesday, returning to action with two games on Thursday against Wooster and Olivet.
