HOW IT HAPPENED:
Top of 1st inning: Transy plated the first runs of the ballgame as they strung together a few hits and capitalized off of a walk and a few wild pitches (2-0).
Top of 5th inning: The Pioneers extended their lead as two different singles, in the inning, brought home a run each (4-0).
Bottom of 5th inning: Rhodes didn't go quietly as they chipped away at the lead when John McNair led off of the inning with an infield hit, advanced to second on a wild pitch, and Sam Roffwarg smoked a single up the middle to score McNair (4-1).
Bottom of 8th: The Lynx continued to chip away at the lead. Peter York got things started with a single to right field, Paul Giacomazzi followed with a single to the pitcher, and McNair brought home a run as he singled to right field (4-2).
Bottom of 9th: Still down 4-2, the Lynx still had a lot of fight in them. Ben Wilson scorched a double down the left field line to begin the inning. Roffwarg battled himself to a 3-2 count and drew a walk to put Rhodes in a first and second situation with zero outs. A passed ball allowed both runners to move up 90 feet. Then Willard Overstreet was able to draw a walk, but in the process the fourth ball was a wild pitch which allowed a run to score (4-3). York plated a runner as he was able to reach safely on a fielder's choice to notch things even (4-4). With bases loaded and one out, Wood Kimbrough hit a deep enough fly ball to bring home the winning run (5-4).
