Box Score Memphis - Rhodes College men's soccer played in their home opener during the Volgas Memorial Tournament Friday afternoon. The Lynx first hosted Austin College to a 3-2 victory over Hendrix College before the Lynx fell to the University of Texas Dallas 7-1. Rhodes drops to 2-2-1 on the year while UT-Dallas is now 4-1. 

The Comets started scoring early and held a 4-0 lead by the 25th minute. Rhodes avoided a shutout after freshman Nic DiMauro threw the ball in to fellow freshman Adam Fox who headed the ball towards the goal. Freshman Andrew Keeney one-timed the ball to the goal line, over the goalkeeper's head where sophomore Travis Tuerff played the ball into the goal off his chest. Tuerff now has four goals on the season. 

The Lynx limited UT-Dallas to two goals in the second half and scoreless for almost 30 minutes before the Comets scored again in the final minute of the game. 

Overall, UT-Dallas totaled 20 shots to Rhodes' 12 while the Comets recorded four corner kicks in the first half and Rhodes four in the second half. 

The Lynx will close the Volgas Memorial Tournament on Sunday, hosting Austin College at 2:30 p.m.
