Memphis - Rhodes College men's lacrosse hosted No. 3 seeded Berry College Sunday afternoon, ultimating defeating the Vikings 15-8. The 2019 Southern Athletic Association Men's Lacrosse Tournament Championship is the second consecutive title for the Lynx, earning them another bid to the NCAA Tournament.
A 4-1 first quarter lead helped propel the Lynx to victory.
Christian Cisneros drove hard to the cage to finally put the ball in the back of the net after almost eight minutes of action. Berry scored 28 seconds after the Lynx took a 2-0 lead, but Rhodes rebounded with four straight goals. The Lynx held a 6-1 lead until Berry closed the first half with two goals including a man-up goal with nine seconds left before the break.

J.J. Hoots won the face-off and went to the cage as Rhodes opened the second half with an 8-3 lead. Berry went on a 4-2 run to cut Rhodes' advantage to three goals until the Lynx again scored four unanswered goals across the third and fourth quarters to lead by seven. Berry's final goal of the game came with 9:30 remaining until Mueller closed the game with his third goal of the game with 3:22 to play.
Mueller totaled the game-high five points on three goals and two assists while
Tyler Milwit also tallied a hat trick. Hoots finished with 10 ground balls while
Cameron Link recorded 11 saves including seven in the first quarter. The Lynx won 19-of-26 face-offs and held a 45-27 ground ball advantage as well as a 45-38 shot advantage.
Rhodes is now 15-3 on the season and will find out who and where they play in the NCAA Tournament on Sunday, May 5th. The selection show will be on ncaa.com at 9 p.m. ET.
