Memphis - After Sewanne opened the 2019 SAA Semifinals with two goals, Rhodes men's lacrosse went on a 6-1 run to lead 6-3 at halftime before defeating the Tigers 13-7. The win propels the Lynx to 14-3 on the year and to their third straight SAA Tournament Championship appearance.
Sewanee outscored Rhodes 4-3 in the third quarter. Rhodes' 9-7 lead quickly increased as the Lynx scored four goals en route to a fourth quarter shutout over the Tigers. The game-winning goal, Rhodes' second goal of the third quarter, came when
Christian Cisneros served up
Addison Mueller. Cisneros totaled a program record-tying six assists and career-high seven goals in the win.
Karl Van Blargan led the game with four goals while Mueller finished the game with a hat trick.
Isaiah Pratt tallied his first two goals of the season, the final Lynx to score multiple goals in the game.
On the defensive end,
Cameron Link made 12 saves while
James Margraff tallied three caused turnovers and four ground balls.
Rhodes edged the Tigers in shots (39-38) despite Sewanee holding a 19-4 face-off advantage, due in part to 27 Tiger turnovers.
Rhodes will host No. 3 seeded Berry for the 2019 SAA Tournament Championship on Sunday, April 28 at 1 p.m.
