Kendall Henry Makes Program History in Series Finale at Berry

Rome, Ga. - Rhodes College softball fell to Berry College Sunday 8-5 after holding a 4-1 advantage in the middle of the fifth inning. The loss takes the Lynx to 22-11 on the season and are now third in conference with a 9-5 record.

After senior Kendall Henry got stranded on third base in the second inning, and with two outs in the third, she singled in two runs to give Rhodes the lead. During that at-bat she also broke the program record for career RBI, tallying her 128th and 129th RBI. Then in the fifth inning she hit a two-run home run, her second of the series, to give Rhodes a 4-1 advantage.

Berry then scored six runs in the bottom half of the inning on seven hits. Five of those runs were scored with two outs. The Vikings then hit their second solo home run of the game in the sixth before Peyton Clark roped in Henry and Lauren King to pull Rhodes within three.

Henry finished the day 3-for-3 with four RBI, a walk and one run scored. She now has 131 career RBI after having a part in four of Rhodes five runs. King finished 2-for-3 with two runs scored.
