Game Recap: Women's Lacrosse |

Memorable Senior Day for Women's Lacrosse as Lynx Earn Fourth SAA Regular Season Title

Memphis - It was a rainy senior day for Rhodes women's lacrosse on Saturday, April 13. The Lynx honored five players and two managers before Rhodes defeated Berry 24-2. The win concluded regular season play as Rhodes won their ninth straight game and are now 11-3 on the season. The Lynx went undefeated in conference play (6-0) to earn their fourth straight Southern Athletic Association regular season title.

Freshman Baylee Barker served up senior Elizabeth Gaudio just two minutes into the game to get the scoring started for the Lynx who scored the first 10 goals in the first 11 minutes of the game. Gaudio would later send a ridiculous assist to fellow senior Annika Hedlund in the second half as the shot clock expired to score Rhodes' 20th goal. Hedlund then assisted another senior Daly Colarossi with 24 seconds left in the game, making sure each of the five senior players tallied a goal on senior day. For the seniors, Hedlund and Casey Glick both scored a hat trick and four points while Gaudio finished with three points on two goals before Kaylin Ryan (two points) and Colarossi rounded out the group. Glick recorded the evenual game-winner in the fifth minute of the game.

In the game, Rhodes dominated possessions, pulling down 20 of 26 draw controls. Barker finished the game with six points on four goals while junior Aubrey Gray tallied five points with three assists and two goals. Sophomore KK Mulholland also led the Lynx with three assists while freshman Aidan Pike recorded a hat trick as well.

Rhodes will have a bye in the first round of SAA action. The Lynx will host the first round on Friday, April 19th and play in the semifinals on Saturday, April 20. We will send out a release once times have been confirmed.
