Game Recap: Men's Lacrosse |

Lynx Remain Undefeated in Conference after 16-8 Victory over Centre

Memphis - Rhodes College men's lacrosse defeated Centre College 16-8 to improve to 5-0 in conference and earn at least a share of the Southern Athletic Association's regular season title. The final conference matchup will be against Sewanee on Sunday as the Lynx vie for sole ownership of the title. Sewanee is currently 4-1 against conference opponents, having lost to Berry.

Rhodes scored the first three goals of the game in the first quarter, on their way to a six goal advantage to open senior night. The Lynx seniors had plenty of fans cheering, the loudest of which (their moms) were donning their red road jerseys. The Lynx took an 8-1 halftime lead before Centre scored seven of the 15 second-half goals.

During the game, freshman Christian Cisneros talled six points including a career-high five assists while fellow freshman Karl Van Blargan came back to net five points on a hat trick and two assists. Tyler Milwit also scored three goals while David Perez, Matt Perez and Alexi Thomas all tallied two apiece. Van Blargan and goalie Cameron Link both picked up six ground balls while Noah Daniel recorded three caused turnovers.

Rhodes outshot Centre 50-39. With the top two goalkeepers in the SAA, it's not surprise that both accumulated over 10 saves. Link tallied 12 for Rhodes while Jongewaard made 15 saves.

Prior to the game, Rhodes recognized their nine seniors for their dedication and achievements to the men's lacrosse program: Noah Daniel, Henry Hasbrouck, David Jones, Austin Le, Cameron Link, John Mondi, David Perez, Matthew Simon, and Tyler Milwit
