Memphis - Rhodes College baseball recorded 12 hits en route to a 16-6 seven-inning victory to start their three-game series against Millsaps. The Lynx, who led 3-0 after six innings in game two, ended up suffering a 4-3 loss in the final inning of the second game. Rhodes and Millsaps will now meet for the rubber match at 1 p.m. on Sunday.
Game One
Rhodes scored five runs in the second before Millsaps answered with six runs in the top of the third inning. The Lynx rebounded for another five runs in the bottom of the inning and five more in the fourth to lead 15-6. In the bottom of the seventh,
Paul Giacomazzi was hit by a pitch and then got into scoring position by stealing second base. He advanced to third on a wild pitch and scored the winning run when
Jacob Telli singled to center to end the game on a 10-run rule. During that contest, Telli went three-of-three with five RBI, three runs scored and three walks. Giacomazzi walked four times and scored four runs while freshman
Ben Wilson went three-of-four and scored three runs.

Game Two
First baseman
Ryan Palermo hit a solo shot to right field in the second inning to put Rhodes up 1-0 before the Lynx tallied two more runs in the third. In the top of the sixth, shortstop
Will Heurtin had a hand in all three outs. He stepped on second before throwing to first for the double play before fielding a groundout to end the inning. Millsaps avoided a shutout after two Majors were hit by a pitch. Two singles later, their first run scored, but a three-run home run gave Millsaps a 4-3 lead. The Lynx had runners on first and second with one out, but two flyouts ended the game.
Trey Sledge pitched all seven innings, suffering the loss. Palermo recorded two RBI in the game.
