Montgomery, Ala. - Rhodes College men's lacrosse picked up their third win of the season, defeating Huntingdon College 14-7 Tuesday evening. The Hawks are now 2-2 this year.
It was a slow scoring first quarter before the Lynx took a 6-4 halftime advantage.
Matt Perez, the game's leading goal scorer, all recorded in the second half, gave the Lynx a 7-4 lead after receiving a pass from
Andrew Lempner and putting the ball in the back of the net just 40 seconds into the second half. That would be the first of four goals in an 8-1 run for the Lynx who led 14-5. The host Hawks finished the game with two goals in the final three minutes of the game.
Christian Cisneros tallied the game-winner on an assist from
David Perez with 9:52 left in the third quarter.
J.J. Hoots led the Lynx with six ground balls followed by defenseman
Henry Hasbrouck who tallied four to go along with a goal. Cisneros also tallied four points, recorded a goal and three assists while 10 different Lynx scored. In goal for 55 minutes,
Cameron Link tallied 10 saves.
Huntingdon committed 26 turnovers in the game while Rhodes went 19-of-19 in clears. The Lynx also held a 53-28 shot advantage.Â
Rhodes will host Carthage (March 5) and Muhlenberg (March 7), both at 1 p.m. next week over Spring Break.
