Louisville, Ky. - Rhodes College women's lacrosse finished the weekend against Illinois Wesleyan on the campus of the University of Louisville. The Lynx suffered a 19-16 loss and are now 0-2 to start the 2019 campaign.
After IWU scored first,
Annika Hedlund found
Aubrey Gray to tie the game while Rhodes was serving a yellow card. The Titans then responded with a 5-1 run before Rhodes retaliated and went on a 6-1 to lead 8-7 with 9:28 left in the first half. IWU finished the half with four goals to Rhodes' one to lead 11-9.
Second half play went back and forth until the Titans scored three unanswered goals to take a five-goal advantage 11:09 left. Rhodes closed out the game on a 4-2 run before running out of time.
The teams combined to go 13-of-20 in free position shots. IWU held a 25-12 draw controls advantage, however the Titans only recorded two more shots than the Lynx.

Annika Hedlund and freshman
Baylee Barker both recorded a career-high seven points. Hedlund scored five goals on seven shots and added two assists while Barker scored six goals and tallied one assist. In goal,
Lauren Lazure tallied 12 saves.
Rhodes will return to competition on February 26th in their home opener against Johnson & Wales at 4 p.m.
