The Southern Athletic Association (SAA) has announced their third SAA Women's Basketball Player of the Week, with Rhodes senior Alyssa Owens picking up her second honor of the season.
On the road, Owens averaged 20.5 points, 9.5 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game last week. The Lynx forced No. 24- ranked Washington University in St. Louis to overtime as Owens finished the game with 22 points, nine boards, and four assists. She also shot 40 percent from the floor.
Then in a 77-71 victory against Fontbonne, Owens netted 19 points and grabbed 10 rebounds. Along with her double-double, she posted a 46.2 field goal percentage and had one assist.
Rhodes hosts Belhaven tomorrow at 6 p.m. before hitting the road for a Sunday matchup in Texas at the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor.
