Memphis - Rhodes College men's basketball hosted East Texas Baptist University in their home opener Thursday night. Rhodes has now fallen by a score of 88-62 in back-to-back games and sit 1-2 on the year.
The Lynx held a 34-24 lead but in the final four minutes of the half, ETBU scored seven straight points to pull within range. The Tigers then overtook the Lynx with 13 straight points after the break on their way to a 51-32 scoring advantage in the second half.
Four Tigers posted double digits while the Lynx were led by
Mitch Weatherford with 11 points,
Jake Nestlehutt with 10 points while freshman
Koki Wiley led the game with 13 rebounds in his first collegiate start. He also recorded eight points and four assists.
As a team the Lynx 44.8% in the field, but tallied 22 turnovers which included several offensive charges.
The Lynx will host Millikin University on Saturday at 7 p.m. to open their annual Tip-Off Tournament.
