Lexington, Ky. - Rhodes College field hockey fell to No. 14-ranked Centre College in the 2019 Southern Athletic Association Championship game.
Centre scored first on a corner attempt on a reverse shot in the 11th minute but the Lynx tied the game before halftime after taking advantage of a Centre misplay. With the Colonels' goalkeeper clearing the ball,
Sabrina Simpson intercepted the pass, passed the ball over to senior
Hailey Mules sent the ball to the boards in the 24th minute.Â
By halftime, Centre held a 9-1 shot advantage, adding nine more in the second half. The Lynx defense worked continuously as Centre held a 9-3 corner advantage throughout the game. The Colonels finally connected on their game-winning goal in the 41st minute. The goal came on another corner attempt, but on the second attempt on another reverse shot. The Lynx pressured the Colonels late in the game earning a penalty corner in the fourth quarter before time expired.Â

Daryl Perry each recorded a defensive save.
The Lynx finished the year 9-6 overall after making it to their eighth straight conference title match.
