Game Recap: Women's Soccer |

Schindler's goal not enough in 2-1 loss against DePauw

St. Louis, Mo. - Rhodes College women's soccer fell 2-1 to DePauw University Sunday afternoon during the Challenge Tournament, hosted by Washington University in St. Louis.

All three goals came in the second half with DePauw scoring first in the 54th minute. Rhodes senior Sydnie Schindler took control of the ball as DePauw tried to outlet their possession from their defensive end. Schindler settled the ball and booted her second 30-yard goal on the weekend to tie the game (see clip below). Her fifth girl of the season came in the 62nd minute.

The Tigers netted the game-winner off a one-timer in the 70th minute to improve to 2-4 on the year.

During the game, Rhodes outshot the Tigers 18-9 with DePauw recording six saves in net. For the Lynx, starting goalkeeper Meghan Kiker recorded two saves with substitute keeper Abby Roevens notching one save.

On the day, DePauw recorded seven corner kicks to Rhodes' three.

The Lynx, who are 2-3-1 on the season, will play another non-conference matchup at Huntingdon on Sept. 19th before opening conference play at Millsaps on Saturday, Sept. 22nd.
