Salisbury, Md. - Rhodes College women's lacrosse ended their 2018 campaign with a 20-11 loss to Trinity (CT) on a rainy Saturday afternoon on the campus of Salisbury University. 

Senior Kendall Cunningham got scoring started in the game with a free position goal to the upper right corner just 16 seconds into the game. Trinity's Kiley Coffey answered with her own free position goal before Cunningham scored from the same hash mark to put roads up 2-1. Trinity tied the game until Olivia Holmes scored a man-up goal to give the Lynx a 3-2 advantage. Trinity then secured four straight goals to lead 6-3 before Maggie Rippeto earned Rhodes' first non free-position goal as she came in and scored near the right side of the crease. Ashley Doyle then scored her only goal of the game from the arc as well before Trinity ended the half with a 13-5 lead after six straight goals. 

Trinity continued to score with three more goals to open the second half before Rippeto served up Holmes for Rhodes' sixth goal of the contest. Coffey's fifth goal of the day gave Trinity an 11-goal advantage, their largest of the game with just under 19 minutes left to play. Rippeto answered a minute and a half later before Trinity scored again. Cunningham then recorded a true hat trick with three goals in under two minutes. She would finish Lynx scoring on a free position shot with 6:07 to go. 

In the game, two players from Trinity scored five goals including Grace O'Donnell who tied Cunningham with a game-high six points as the Lynx senior led the game with six goals, ultimately reaching 101 goals on the season. Rippeto tallied four points with two goals and two assists, Holmes finished with two goals and Doyle one goal and one assist. Mallika Rao saves seven shots in cage for the Lynx while Annika Hedlund led Rhodes with three ground ball and three caused turnovers.

Trinity held a 26-7 draw control advantage over the Lynx and will take on Salisbury in the Elite Eight on Sunday. 

Rhodes finishes the year with a 15-4 record and will lose Kendall Cunningham, McKenna Davis, Ashley Doyle, Erin Gleeson, Olivia Holmes, Liz Lewis, Maggie Rippeto and Rachel Windmueller to graduation.
