Memphis - Sewanee got the jump on the Lynx by taking a 3-0 lead before Rhodes crossed four runs in the bottom of the fourth with two outs to take the lead for good in game one Saturday afternoon. The Lynx got off to an early start in the second game by scoring six runs in the bottom of the first.
Across both games,
Jill Healy and
Kendall Henry each homered. Henry finished game two going three-of-three with three RBI and two runs scored.
Peyton Clark singled in
Bri Maniscalco (who earned the win) for the game-winning RBI in game one. She finished the game two-of-three at the plate. In game two,
Anna Kula grounded out to the pitcher as she tallied the game-winning RBI when Henry scored.
In game two,
Kirsten Samuels went three-of-four with two runs scored and an RBI.
Jamie Jang struck out four Tigers over three innings while Caroline Reilly got her feet wet in the circle in her first appearance of the season, pitching the final two innings as the Lynx won game two 11-3 in five innings.
Rhodes and Sewanee will conclude the SAA series on Sunday at noon, again at Rhodes.
