Memphis - Rhodes College softball came out strong in their final game against Sewanee Sunday afternoon. The Lynx posted five runs in the first inning on their way to defeating the Tigers 9-2.
Kirsten Samuels doubled in
Jill Healy for the game-winning run but not before
Haley Rath added two more RBI on a single to finish the first inning. Sewanee scored their only two runs in the top of the fourth before
Jamie Jang stole home to put Rhodes ahead 6-2 in the fifth. In the top of the sixth, Caroline Reilly came in to pitch and then she helped herself and her teammates by singling to right to score
Karrah Flores. Reilly eventually scored as did
Peyton Clark who came home on a
Kendall Henry single. Clark also tallied Rhodes' first run of the game with

Rhodes is hoping the rain stays away for the remainder of the week. The Lynx are scheduled to travel to Hendrix Tuesday for a doubleheader before hosting Berry this weekend.
