Jackson, Miss. - After not having a game since November 24th, Rhodes men's basketball dropped their sixth straight game, falling to Belhaven University 82-76 Tuesday night. The Lynx, who are now 2-6 on the year, played their fourth game in a row away from Mallory Gymnasium.
Rhodes led 37-34 at halftime and received 12 points each from freshman

Preston Giroux. Giroux missed just one of seven shot attempts in eight minutes on the court, but picked up three fouls. During that first half Rhodes grabbed 16 boards compared to Belhaven's 11. The Lynx also shot 50% accuracy, but were charged with 16 fouls, allowing Belhaven to sink 14 of 19 free throw attempts.
Rhodes continued their hot shooting, going 16-of-30 in the final 20 minutes, despite Belhaven overtaking the Lynx with nine straight points to start the second half. The Lynx came back to take a 57-49 lead but nine straight points tied the game 57-57 with just under nine minutes to play. The Lynx led 70-66 after a
Mac James three pointer with 4:20 to go. Rhodes trailed by one point (75-74) with 1:33 remaining, however Belhaven scored six straight points, including four free throws to lead 81-74 and hold on for the win.
During the second frame, Giroux went 7-of-11 for 15 points. Blazer forward Brosnan Crook was also on fire, connecting on all eight field goal attempts in the second half, securing 21 points on his way to 28 points after going 10-of-11 in the game. Belhaven scored an additional 12 points from the charity stripe in the second half and finished the game with 26 free throws on 27 attempts.
Giroux completed the game with a career-high 27 points, finishing the game 13-of-18. Shen finished the game with 16 points while
Bryce Berry also secured double digit points (10) for the Lynx. Giroux and
Daniel Darst both totaled six rebounds while James served up five assists and Darst four assists.
