Memphis - Rhodes College men's basketball stormed to a 38-point lead over Austin College inside Mallory Gymnasium Sunday morning before winning their second game of the weekend 97-60. Austin College is now 1-1 on the year.
The Lynx led 45-29 at halftime after Austin College was hit with 13 fouls. The Lynx connected on nine of their 11 first-half free throws and shot 42% from the field. In the second half, Rhodes held a 52-31 advantage over the 'Roos which included missing just one of 15 free throws while shooting 46% from behind the arc, sinking six treys.
In the game, Rhodes shot 88.5% from the free throw line, 44.4% in the field and 33.3% from three-point range. The Lynx held a 50-40 rebound advantage but turned the ball over 25 times compared to Austin College's 14 turnovers.

Preston Giroux led the Lynx with 20 points after connecting on eight field goals. Scoring 10 points each were senior
Daniel Darst and junior
Mitch Weatherford. Darst led all rebounders, totaling five offensive and three defensive boards while Weatherford led Rhodes with seven assists.
Top Austin College scorers included Devin Roland and Michael Holland with 11 points each. The 'Roos made just three of 20 three-point attempts and shot 56.5% from the free throw line.
The Lynx will prepare to host Lousiana College on Saturday at 3 p.m., followed by either Rose-Hulman or LaGrange on Sunday.
