Danville, Ky. - After Rhodes women's basketball defeated Centre College at home by 13 points, the Colonels took revenge on the Lynx who fell by 23 points (74-51), their second-largest loss margin from a fellow NCAA Div. III opponent. The Lynx are now 12-7 overall and 5-4 in SAA play.
Rhodes led 16-9 after the first quarter and were edged in the second frame, but held a one-point lead at halftime. Centre dropped a 20-5 scoring advantage on the Lynx in the third quarter and a nine-point advantage in the final frame to secure the victory.
Rhodes shot a dismal 14.3% from beyond the arc, netting just two of 14 attempts.
Alyssa Owens led the Lynx with 17 points, four assists and four steals. She also had four rebounds and went nine-of-10 at the free throw line. Freshman
Maya Longacre secured a team-high seven rebounds off the bench.
The Lynx are on the road this weekend, taking on Berry College Friday and Oglethorpe University on Sunday.
