Jackson, Miss. - Rhodes College women's soccer rolled past Millsaps College Friday night with a 4-0 victory as they opened Southern Athletic Association play for the season. The Lynx have won four straight games and five of their last six contests. They are 5-3-1 on the year.
Rhodes rattled off 28 shots in the game and have 14 corner attempts. The Lynx scored in the 13th minute and were held scoreless for the remainder of the half.
Olivia Gattuso worked hard in the goal for Millsaps, recording 12 saves including seven in the first half.
Meghan Kiker earned her first victory of the year saving a shot during the first half.
For Rhodes,
Sydnie Schindler scored twice with
Brenna Katz assisting on the final goal of the game. Recording the game-winner was senior
Merrill Stovroff while
Rachel Giampapa netted the third goal of the game and her second of the year.
Rhodes will have a week off before traveling to Birmingham-Southern for a matchup on Sept. 30th at 2:30pm.
