Box Score Conway, Ark. - Rhodes College men's soccer and Southwestern (TX) met at the Hendrix College Tournament Friday evening. The Pirates handed the Lynx a 2-1 loss to open the season. 

After a scoreless first half and both teams itching for first-goal rights, Southwestern stung the Lynx with a goal in the 49th minute followed by another one in the 88th minute. Rhodes struck back less than a minute later as senior Mark Robinson netted the first Lynx goal of the year. 

Emotions were high as eight yellow cards were handed out between the two squads. Rhodes goalkeepers made eight saves on the night while the team managed seven shots and seven corners against the Pirates. 

Rhodes will not play on Saturday, but will return to the pitch in Arkansas to square off against McMurray University in another neutral-site contest on Sunday at noon.
