Memphis - The University of Texas at Dallas came to Memphis with a plan to beat Rhodes' full-court press. Their plays worked as the Comets took a 65-53 lead at halftime and finished with a 117-105 victory over the Lynx to improve to 8-3 on the year. Rhodes is now 5-5 overall.
Dimitrius Underwood was the star of the game, recording a triple double with 18 assists, 14 points and 13 rebounds. The Comets kept scoring in the paint, shooting only five three-point attempts in the game with 92 points coming from inside. UT-Dallas also recorded 64 points off the full-court press.Â
For Rhodes,
Bryce Berry came out and in the first play of the game stole the ball from the Comets. The sophomore recorded a career-high 22 points going 10-of-15 in the contest which included two treys on two attempts.
Daniel Darst was a big playmaker with 15 points, six rebounds, three blocks and three steals as was
Preston Giroux with 15 points and four rebounds. Also recording double-digit points was
Anesu Nyawata with 17 points and five assists.
The Lynx return to Mallory Gymnasium when they host the University of Dallas Sunday at 2 p.m. to round out the year.
