Memphis - Rhodes College women's soccer hosted Hendrix College in a conference quarterfinal matchup Saturday. The matchup went into double overtime, just as it did last week, but this time the Hendrix Warriors ended Rhodes' season in the shootout. The game was the only SAA Quarterfinal contest to go into overtime.
For Rhodes,
Anna Maldonado and for Hendrix, Jordan Rausch, both had nine saves in the tie.Â
Rachel Giampapa assisted the first goal of the game as Rhodes junior
Sydnie Schindler sent the ball into the back of the net in the 39th minute.Â
Hendrix tied the game when Zoe Corwyn scored in the 63rd minute.Â
The teams tallied 21 shots in the second half as they totaled 38 shots in regulation. Rhodes edged Hendrix in shots 4-3 in overtime and 26-19 in the game and held an 11-1 corner kick advantage.
Hendrix won the shootout 4-1.Â
Rhodes ends their season with an 8-5-3 record. The Lynx graduate
