HAMPTON, Ga. (Oct. 28, 2017) – The Centre women's cross country team recaptured the Southern Athletic Association Championship on Saturday, winning their first conference title since 2014 and placing five runners on the SAA All-Conference teams.
Centre finished with 34 points to edge Rhodes by 14 points. Defending SAA Champion Berry finished third with 57 points, followed by Birmingham-Southern and Oglethorpe. Sewanee, Millsaps, and Hendrix closed out the standings.
Ashley Litoff of Rhodes was named SAA Runner of the Year after she finished first individually with a time of 21:44.45. Annie Rodenfels of Centre was second at 22:00.06 while Alainna Chretien of Berry was third with a time of 22:35.89.Â
The SAA Newcomer of the Year was freshman Hallie Searcy of Centre, who finished sixth (23:29.51).
