Birmingham, Ala. - Rhodes College volleyball was swept by Birmingham-Southern in their second-to-last conference game of the year Saturday afternoon. The Lynx tried to hold off the Panthers, forcing extra points in the third set, but ultimately fell 20-25, 15-25, 24-26. Rhodes is now 9-12 on the year and 4-9 in conference. BSC improves to 15-5 and 11-2 in the SAA.
Caroline Perlis was efficient at the net. The junior earned five kills on nine attempts over two sets in the middle hitters position to earn a team-high hitting average of .556. She was also part of three blocks.Â
Morgan Hill and
Gabby Gafford each recorded a solo block with Hill adding four block assists to lead the team at the net defensively.
Camila Zimmerman's 16 digs edged
Mary Frances Daniel's 15 as the Lynx totaled 56 in the game.Â
Rhodes will compete on the court at Millsaps tomorrow with a noon start time to wrap up conference play before the tournament. Rhodes will finish the regular season at home next weekend with three non-conference games.
