MEMPHIS - The Rhodes College men's lacrosse team set a new school record in wins in a season with their ninth overall in a dominating 21-4 victory over Oglethorpe on Friday evening at Crain Field.
The Lynx outshot the Petrels, 43-6, including a 29-6 advantage in shots on goal. Rhodes forced 25 turnovers while only giving it away 18 times. The Lynx were 14 of 15 in clear attempts while holding Oglethorpe to 11 of 20 as well as 22-for-28 in faceoffs.
Rhodes opened the game with a goal from freshman
John Tooher, but Oglethorpe had a response, tying the game at one almost one minute later. Freshman
Tyler Milwit scored back-to-back goals to push it to 3-1, but the Petrels cut the deficit to one.
The Lynx would close the quarter with goals from Tooher and freshman
David Perez and went on to score 10 goals in the second quarter to open up a 15-2 lead. Senior Milwit and Cooper each scored twice in the quarter while sophomore
Austin Bridgforth scored a pair.

Austin Le all scored goals in the second as Rhodes held a commanding lead at the break.
Rhodes had scored 15 consecutive goals from the first quarter until about three minutes remaining in the third as they emptied their bench. Reingruber, junior Matt Jones, and freshman
Henry Hasbrouck gave Rhodes an 18-4 lead after three.

Andrew Salamunovich wrapped the scoring up in the fourth as Rhodes rolled to their second SAA win of the season.
Tooher finished with four goals and three assists while Milwit added four goals and two assists. Sophomore
Ryan Fennelly racked up six assists while Bridgforth, Reingruber, and Robinson all had two goals and an assist. Jones, O'Bannon, and Perez each added a goal and an assist on the night.
Defensively, Hasbrouck led the defense with three caused turnovers while Tooher, freshman
Noah Daniel, and freshman
Matthew Simon had two. Reingruber had six groundballs while Simon, Perez, and senior
Tat Whitley had five groundballs. Whitley was 18-for-21 in faceoffs while Jones was 4-for-7.
Rhodes moves to 9-2 overall and 2-1 in the SAA. They will return to action on Sunday as they welcome in the Berry College Vikings for a 1 PM matchup as Crain Field.
