ST. LOUIS, Mo. - The Rhodes volleyball team concluded its weekend at the ASICS Invite on the campus of Washington University with a split against Rose-Hulman and Blackburn College.
The Lynx would drop a four set match to the Engineers in the morning before bouncing back and finishing the weekend strong with a four set win over the Beavers. Rhodes finished 1-3 on the weekend and moves to 2-3 overall.
In the first matchup, the Lynx got a huge game from freshman
August Bishop, who finished with 14 kills on the morning with a .387 hitting percentage. Freshmen
Caroline Perlis and
Lulu Schulz each added eight kills in the match as well. Rhodes would take the first set 25-20, but drop the next two 25-18 and 25-14. The Lynx would fight to force a fifth set, but the Engineers pulled through and won the match, 26-24.

Ana McMullen had 20 assists while fellow freshman
Arati Joshi added 13. Schulz and freshman Lulu Platt each had three blocks in the contest.
In the second matchup, it was all Lynx as they jumped out to a 2-0 lead, 25-12 and 25-9, as Rhodes hit .412 as a team in the second set. After dropping the third set, 25-22, the Rhodes hit an amazing .750 in the final set to clinch the match, 25-6.

Camila Zimmerman led the offense with 10 kills a piece while McMullen and McCarty combined for 30 assists. Schulz and Perlis came away with three blocks each.
The Lynx will be back in action next weekend as they head to Jackson, Miss.for the Millsaps/Belhaven Invite. They will take on Belhaven and Texas-Tyler on Friday at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. on the campus of Belhaven University and will follow that up with a matchup against Centenary and Mississippi College at 1 p.m. and 5 p.m. on the campus of Millsaps College.
