MEMPHIS - The Rhodes College volleyball team returned to Mallory Gymnasium on Saturday afternoon as they welcomed in the Millsaps Majors for Southern Athletic Association play. The Lynx struggled to get much going in the contest, falling in straight sets, 25-18, 25-15, 25-15.
The Lynx struggled, hitting .027 percent as a team with only 22 kills to 19 errors. Millsaps meanwhile was red hot, hitting .262 as a team in the match and only committing 12 errors.
Rhodes struggled in all three matches, facing big deficits in each mad. They would drop the first match, 25-18, followed by a pair of 25-15 defeats.
Freshman
Camila Zimmerman led teh attack with five kills while freshmen
Caroline Perlis and
August Bishop each added three. Freshman
Ana McMullen had 11 assists in the contest.
Defensively, senior
Maraia Tremarelli had 15 digs while Zimmerman had seven. Perlis and sophomores
Elasha Williams and
Gabby Gafford all had two blocks in the contest.
The Lynx move to 5-9 overall and 0-4 in SAA play. They will return to action at Mallory Gym tomorrow afternoon with a 1 p.m. matchup against Birmingham-Southern.
