MOUNT BERRY, Ga. – The Rhodes softball team fell in a doubleheader to Berry College on Saturday, 4-0 and 8-0.
The Lynx are 1-14-1 on the year and 0-4-1 in league play while the Vikings are 11-5 on the season and 4-2 in conference action.
In the first contest, the Lynx fell by a margin of 4-0. Berry notched three runs in the first frame and added a single run in the fifth for the final score.
Rhodes tallied four hits in the outing, with a hit from
Christine Hume,
Kirsten Samuels,
Forrest Skelton and
Allison Long. Skelton also got the start in the circle for the Lynx, throwing all six innings, with four strikeouts.
In the second contest, the Lynx fell 8-0. Berry added two runs in the first, second, third and fourth innings for the 8-0 win.
Caroline Reilly led the Lynx with a double in the outing.
Allison Long got the start for the Lynx, throwing three and one-thirds innings. Reilly came in to relieve, throwing the final two-thirds innings, and striking out one.
Rhodes will be back in action on March 22 when they conclude their series with Berry College at 12 and 2 p.m.
