MEMPHIS, Tenn. – The Southern Athletic Association released its 2014-2015 Women's basketball All-Conference Award Winners, with the Rhodes women's basketball team placing three on the list.
Senior
Sarah Johnson was named the league's Defensive Player of the Year for her tenacious play this season, and was also named to the All-Conference Second Team. Johnson is first in the conference in steals, with 77 this season. The Little Rock, Ark. native also leads the league in assists to turnover ratio with a 2.8 ratio, with 140 assists on the year.
Symone Daniels was named to the All-Conference First Team for the Lynx. The junior led the Rhodes squad with her average of 15.5 points this season, adding 8.0 rebounds per game. The Cordova, Tenn. native shot 42.4 percent from the field, and 31.4 percent from beyond the arc.
Fellow senior
Dy'Nelle Todman was named to the All-Conference Honorable Mention list for her play in 2014-2015. The Athens, Ga. native was a mainstay for the Lynx both on the offensive and defensive ends of the court. Todman started every contest for the Lynx, and was third in the league in three point percentage with 41.3. She averaged 9.7 points this season, and 4.8 rebounds a contest.
The Lynx face off against Berry College tonight in the SAA Conference tournament, on Feb. 28 at 8 p.m.
